“With Southern charm and a deeply romantic plot, readers will fall in love with this modern day fairy tale.” –RT BOOK REVIEWS

In this modern-retelling of “Beauty and the Beast,” Savannah Carmichael, betrayed by an unreliable source, returns to her hometown of Danvers, Virginia with her once-promising journalism career in ruins. Given the opportunity to get back in the game by writing a patriotic human interest piece, Savannah turns her attention to the town hermit, Asher Lee, a wounded veteran who returned to Danvers eight years ago, and hasn’t been seen since.

After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher’s hand and disfigured half of his face, he’s lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy…that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress with a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feeling things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn’t felt in years.

Misfits in small-town Danvers, Savannah and Asher create a bond right away, touching each other’s hearts in ways neither thought possible. When a terrible mistake threatens to drive them apart, they’ll have to decide if the love they found in one another’s arms is strong enough to fight for their hard-won happily ever after.

** Contemporary Romance. Due to profanity, realistically depicted scenes of war and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.**

REVIEW

REVIEWED BY “STARLORD”

Favorite book of 2015

I don’t have the words to describe how much I love this book.
I have only ever found a few that have left me speechless and filled with so much heart wrenching wonder.
This is described as a modern day beauty and the beast but it is so much more than the love in that fairytale. It brings the world from today into your hands and the tragedies that have destroyed so much and gives you hope that it will all be okay.
Savannah and Asher bring a stunning beauty to the pages of this book that will stay with me forever. Their love is the kind of love that truly conquers all. Everything! No matter what the world throws at them, it will still be forever.
Asher was the type of hero that I fall in love with from the first glimpse inside his mind. Masculine and vulnerable until he knows what he wants. His immediate recognition of the feelings he has toward Savannah are what make him a real man. He opens his heart so fully to her and that is what makes this love story epic.
Savannah is beautiful. Her character is flawed but that is what makes her so perfect for Asher. I love the way the plot played out and how she stood by Asher so easily.
Their story developed from friendship to true love and in the best way possible. The chemistry was also off the charts and the love scenes were utter perfection. If you like those parts 😉 and who doesnt, this book will NOT disappoint.

This is the first book from Katy Regnery that I have read. I have another by her on my kindle that has swiftly moved to the top of my list.

This story was full of hope, love, heat, beautiful moments that make you believe that an ugly world still holds beauty, and the ability for that right person, that love that only comes once in a lifetime, to change you so much that you don’t remember your life without them.

I loved this book! It is my new favorite and I hope you take a chance on it because you won’t regret it.

5 + stars!!
